Interview Tips for Face to Face Interviews

For a successful face-to-face interview, the secret is to be prepared. Here are a few quick common sense pointers.

Preparation
- Check the address, time and date of the interview
Plan how to get there
- Check bus / train timetable or car-parking arrangements
- Allow enough time for your journey and for minor delays
Dress smartly and appropriately
- Office wear for office interviews (wear a tie only if appropriate for the role & company)
- Site gear for site visits
Consider your approach
- Arrive 10 minutes early – time to relax and prepare yourself
- Be pleasant to the Receptionist as this can make a defining first impression
- Check the interviewer’s name and how to pronounce it
- Look the interviewer(s) in the eye, without being menacing or too confronting.
