Interview Tips for Face to Face Interviews

For a successful face-to-face interview, the secret is to be prepared. Here are a few quick common sense pointers.

  • Check the address, time and date of the interview

Plan how to get there

  • Check bus / train timetable or car-parking arrangements
  • Allow enough time for your journey and for minor delays

Dress smartly and appropriately

  • Office wear for office interviews (wear a tie only if appropriate for the role & company)
  • Site gear for site visits

Consider your approach

  • Arrive 10 minutes early – time to relax and prepare yourself
  • Be pleasant to the Receptionist as this can make a defining first impression
  • Check the interviewer’s name and how to pronounce it
  • Look the interviewer(s) in the eye, without being menacing or too confronting.
